Welcome to my Home Automation playground! Here, you'll find a glimpse of my endeavors to make user-friendly tech that transforms homes into smarter, more intuitive spaces. I'm passionate about making tech and home automation accessible for anyone looking to make their daily life more convenient and have them enjoy using it. So, here are some of the examples I've been working on.

Energy ring

This energy ring is a culmination of various home energy projects. It's a 3D-printed ring housing an LED strip divided into four segments. These segments display gas usage in orange, electric in yellow, and water in blue. Plus, the inner part even indicates the color of the next day's garbage bin, if it's collection day.

Home Assistant dashboarding

I use Home Assistant as the hub where all devices are connected and have a way of communicating with each other. To view the status of the devices or to control them I use the Home Assistant Lovelace dashboarding. All dashboarding is custom but makes use of the Mushroom plugin for its cards. Note: the video will probably trigger your Alexa a few times ;-)

Album tags & display

This screen is my Home Automation hub for interacting with living room HA entities. It's completely written in Python and uses MQTT to interact with Home Assistant. The 3D-printed disks are my own design and making, and the NFC reader for Home Assistant is a key component for making choosing music a bit more tangible.

Home Automation integration

Given its touchscreen capabilities, this screen serves as the perfect tool for controlling various aspects of my Home Automation setup. I've integrated controls for smart devices such as lights, cameras, the thermostat, and my calendar into an interface. The screen, powered by a Raspberry Pi Zero and running Python, communticates with Home Assistant to execute commands and get devices statuses.
